Please read things that apply to you. And if you’re a new member please read the lot, I know its long but it will help.
1. ----Getting Started----
Ahem, Welcome to tribal wars, isn’t your new little village looking nice? It would also look nice in someone else hands to. So its time to enter the World of Tribal Wars. Now you have to understand this is a war game, its not build a nice village and decorate it with pretty shiny things and work towards world peace, Its wait till your enemy is asleep and ram about 5 nobles up his ass, and make his village a addition to your collection. You are going to want to fend of all attacks, and while administering your own. So I’m going to show you how to do that effectively.
Now, your nice new village is like a child, bring it up wrong, and it’s going to be driving your mad for the rest of your life. You have to take care on how to build things remember your going to be on the rim of the world, and others like you, and the way to do this is to have a clear advantage over every other village. This ensures you will have nobles first and will have an army before anyone else does.
So how do you start? Well your villages buildings Levels, will be varied depending on when you started playing, its likely there going to be around level 10 on your Res spots (Wood Yard, Clay Pit and Iron mine) Now the most important goal at the start of your villages life is to Get level 30 res spots, its not get a noblemen or build a large army, its get Level 30 res spots, once this has been achieved the rest is easy. So how do we do that? Well a small mixture of Raiding and spending a little time. Now you want instantly push your res spots to about level 16 on each of them, this will give you a nice basic income, and you’re still under protection. Now build that barracks, and remember if look on the help files it gives you the requirements for all buildings. Now once you have you barracks get it to level 5, this wont take long about 2 hours, once you have this done, build about 500 spearmen, and while there building start sending out groups of 50-100 spearmen to close abandoned in or inactive villages with less than 100 points, or the average starting points for your location. This is basic raiding or farming, and will provide a good extra resource for your village, now you might need to upgrade your Warehouse, and HQ to store more Res, or make building build much quicker, don’t upgrade your HQ past level 16 to start with, and your Warehouse past level 18, as that provides all you will need for the moment. Also upgrade your farm where necessary. Now you have these and are raiding you will probably be on about day 4-5 of your protection, now your small army of spearmen will give you good protection, and upgrading your wall to level 5-10 will also make good protection, and at the start its not likely you will be attacked, as everyone will be in the same position as you.
Now using all that above, continue pushing your res spots to level 30, with constant raids this wont be that hard but can take awhile but be patient, and build a few extra spear fighters if you wish. Now the best way to get level 30 mines is build like this, get them all to level 25 each and then just work on wood and clay as iron is not needed as much, once you get wood and clay to level 30 get iron to level 30. It’s a lot quicker this way trust me.
Now you should have a nice well balanced village which looks like this.
Buildings Village Headquarters (Level 15) Barracks (Level 5) Rally point (Level 1) Market (Level 1) Timber camp (Level 30) Clay pit (Level 30) Iron mine (Level 30) Farm (Level 17) Warehouse (Level 18) Hiding place (Level 1) Wall (Level 10)
Units ( between 500-1000)
Now you done the boring part and your village will have about 5k points so your doing very well, now a few people may have bigger villages, but you will fly up now.
2. ----Taking Your First Village----
Ok so you have your level 30 res spots, and your ready to take advantage of some n00b.
Now build spearmen constantly, your going to want about 2500 of them, it might be a good idea to get your barracks up to level 15 too. So while there building, start building your HQ to Level 20, Your market to Level 10 and your Smithy to Level 20 (requirements for smithy are on help page). Once you have about 2500 spearmen, quickly build a stable and upgrade a few levels, so you can build scouts and Light cavalry, and a workshop level one. Now you have all the structures you need to start building your army gets back to building what you need for noblemen.
Now slowly start building axemen, your going to want a lot of them 1k is a good starting army, so work towards that, but at the same time you want to be building a few rams, and LC, now this is going to be tricky to balance your Res and building but make sure you keep raiding to provide that little extra and ALWAYS make sure you building up your HQ Market and Smithy, And then be using all spare Res to build up your army, now this might take some time too but its the way it needs to be. Also do a little research on rams LC and axemen just to level 2 will do. Now time for some tactics.
Picking a village.
Ok here are a few rules to picking your first village to take.
Don’t attack someone with more points than you. Don’t attack an ally or NAP don’t attack someone in a large clan.
You want to pick someone who is in a small clan and away from his friends. And you want him to have about 1k fewer points than you, you don’t want it backfiring. Don’t scout yet, you will want to catch him off guard.
ALSO this is a little obvious but don’t pick someone miles away from you. Pick someone close very close.
Now you should be ready for you’re for your attack, and you should have something like this.
Buildings Village Headquarters (Level 20) Barracks (Level 15) Stable (Level 5) Workshop (Level 1) Academy (Level 1) Smithy (Level 20) Rally point (Level 1) Market (Level 1) Timber camp (Level 30) Clay pit (Level 30) Iron mine (Level 30) Farm (Level 20) Warehouse (Level 20) Hiding place (Level 1) Wall (Level 15)
Units 2500 Spearmen 1500 Axemen 500 Light Cavalry 50 Rams 50 Scouts 1 Nobleman
You may notice you might want to upgrade some other things I haven’t mentioned just look at the village example there and try to work towards it.
Time for some Research. Now check the person out you want to attack, make sure he has less points, and is not in a large clan. The look at his profile, now I don’t want to seem harsh but try to find a younger player around 10-14, this is important, check their location, and try to work out when they will be asleep.
Now you’re ready, you need to hit him fast and without mercy. Remember we are not working towards world peace. Get him at night if you can, if not then don’t worry, Now scout first hopefully he wont have much but this is to be sure hopefully if you picked a N00b he wont have anything near a good balanced village, but always check with the combat simulator, (at the rally Point) to see if you will win, and always assume he has research and always add a few extra troops.
Now Send your main army (everything but spearmen), first NEVER send your noblemen in your first wave, unless your advanced, but keep your noble at base, once your attack has hit, and you are sure his wall has gone and his troops are destroyed, send attack with your noble in, now you could either send him with your spearmen or wait till your main army comes back and then send him with that, Never send him on his own, and always make sure you don’t send him in the first wave, losing a nobleman is not good. Keep up the attacks, and keep scouting to make sure, and try to take his villages as quickly as possible. Once you take a village, build up the wall and Spearfighters for defense. And then repeat Step 1.
CONGRATULATIONS you now have your second village, and you have a well balanced village, remember keep up your defense, and keep a good balanced amount of troops.
3. ----Maintaining Your Empire----
Now this is were true dedication come into things, maintaining more than one village can be a pain the ass, especially when you have TEN! Just remember to keep them well balanced and for your first 5 villages, work on defense like mad, SpearFighters and swordsmen provide great defense.
No once will attack a village with high defense not just yet unless they have a good reason or know they can lose a lot and still be ok. remember at this Point you want a level 20 wall, this is important always get them up to level 20.
It’s also normally a good idea to get in contact with the other powerful players near you, make friends cover your own back.
4. ----Advanced Warfare----
Welcome to advanced warfare where I will talk about some tactics for fighting high point players with more than one village.
Now when fighting larger players you have to be aware of a few things clan is one, and you have to realize clans will normally fight together so again pick someone close and in a small clan, and try to get your own clan involved, if a few of you attack together you will be more effective, now you will want to scout all of there villages, and you want to have about 2 Offensive villages (see Village Types). Now the main thing to remember is target one village at a time, but attack all villages, always, send one ram too all there villages, if you just send one attack, they will just put there defense there, but if they got about 4 attacks per village they aren’t going to know where to put there defense, and just hide your main army in waves of attacks, now this is how you arrange the main army, the main army hits first then about 20 seconds later your wave of about 4 noblemen must hit, and remember each noblemen has to be accompanied by a good amount of troops.
But always remember attacks all villages. And try to get your clans men to help with the attacks by sending tons of waves too, and picking other villages, you will want to kill them as quickly as possible and always expect a counter attack.
(I will add to this section later)
5. ----Troop Types----
It’s very important to understand your army well. SO read this well.
-SpearFighter-
The spear fighter is the most basic unit. It is good in defending against cavalry and to start plundering other villages.
Costs per unit villagers needed Speed Carrying capacity 50 30 10 1 18 minutes per field 25
Technology Unit available without research
tech-level Research costs 1 already researched 10 15 45 2 2.560 2.240 2.960 13 19 56 3 10.240 8.960 11.840 14 21 63
-Swordsmen-
The swordsman is a relatively slow unit effective as defense especially against infantry.
Costs per unit villagers needed Speed Carrying capacity 30 30 70 1 22 minutes per field 15
Technology Requirements to research the unit Smithy (Level1)
tech-level Research costs 1 already researched 25 50 25 2 3.600 3.200 3.120 31 63 31 3 14.400 12.800 12.480 35 70 35
-Axemen-
The Axeman is a strong offensive unit. They easily forget to protect themselves though.

tech-level Research costs 1 700 840 820 40 10 5 2 2.800 3.360 3.280 50 13 6 3 11.200 13.440 13.120 56 14 7
This covers infantry, Now a good defense will consist of a balance between Spearmen and Swordsmen, as swords men are effective against, Other infantry and Spearmen are effective against other cavalry. And as it’s likely you will be attacked with both please build a good balance of
each.
Axemen will form the core of your army, when attacking.
-Scout-
The scout creeps into your enemies' villages to get valuable information.
Costs per unit villagers needed Speed Carrying capacity 50 50 20 2 9 minutes per field 0
Technology Requirements to research the unit Stable (Level1)
tech-level Research costs 1 560 480 480 0 2 1 2 2.240 1.920 1.920 0 3 1 3 8.960 7.680 7.680 0 3 1
-Light cavalry-
The light cavalry is a good offensive unit. One of its advantages is its speed.
Costs per unit villagers needed Speed Carrying capacity 125 100 250 4 10 minutes per field 80
Technology Requirements to research the unit Stable (Level3)
tech-level Research costs 1 2.200 2.400 2.000 130 30 40 2 8.800 9.600 8.000 163 38 50 3 35.200 38.400 32.000 182 42 56
-Heavy Cavalry-
The heavy cavalry is the elite of your troops. The noble knights have hardened weapons and strong armor.
Costs per unit villagers needed Speed Carrying capacity 200 150 600 6 11 minutes per field 50
Technology Requirements to research the unit Stable (Level10) Smithy (Level15)
tech-level Research costs 1 3.000 2.400 2.000 150 200 80 2 12.000 9.600 8.000 188 250 100 3 48.000 38.400 32.000 210 280 112
This covers all your mounted units. In good offensive armies LC and HC make great additions.
-Rams-
Rams support your troops in your attacks as it damages your enemies' walls.
Costs per unit villagers needed Speed Carrying capacity 300 200 200 5 30 minutes per field 0
Technology Requirements to research the unit Workshop (Level1)
tech-level Research costs 1 1.200 1.600 800 2 20 50 2 4.800 6.400 3.200 3 25 63 3 19.200 25.600 12.800 3 28 70
-catapults-
Catapults are especially good in destroying your enemies' buildings.
Costs per unit villagers needed Speed Carrying capacity 320 400 100 8 30 minutes per field 0
Technology Requirements to research the unit Workshop (Level2) Smithy (Level12)
tech-level Research costs 1 1.600 2.000 1.200 100 100 50 2 6.400 8.000 4.800 125 125 63 3 25.600 32.000 19.200 140 140 70
Rams are very important, if you have 100 at level 3 hey will destroy any level 20 wall which will help you win and lower your troop loses a lot a good player will always make sure he has enough to destroy the wall. And catapults are very good, at crippling good players, by taking out barracks to stop them from building extra troops, to defend themselves.
6. ----Village Types----
Now you may be at the point where you’re going to need to specialize, with your villages. Now don’t build scout villages, this is crap scouts are inexpensive, and easy to get about 300 of them and are really no loss if you lose that many.
Defensive Village.
Now you want to have 2 thirds of your villages as defensive, A good defensive village will have about 8000 spearmen and 8000 Swordsmen.
Buildings Village Headquarters (Level 25) Barracks (Level 25) Stable (Level 10) Workshop (Level 1) Academy (Level 3) Smithy (Level 20) Rally point (Level 1) Market (Level 15) Timber camp (Level 30) Clay pit (Level 30) Iron mine (Level 30) Farm (Level 30) Warehouse (Level 25) Hiding place (Level 10) Wall (Level 20)
Units 8000 spearmen 8000 Swordsmen
This provides a good defensive village, which also can use the troops to defend any other village. Don’t forget to research all defending troops
to level3.
Offensive Village.
One thing you have to be aware of when having an offensive village is being attacked, when defending Axemen are useless very useless. Your offensive village will need 3 nobles, about 15000 axemen 150 rams and what ever left for Light Cavalry.
Buildings Village Headquarters (Level 25) Barracks (Level 25) Stable (Level 10) Workshop (Level 5) Academy (Level 3) Smithy (Level 20) Rally point (Level 1) Market (Level 15) Timber camp (Level 30) Clay pit (Level 30) Iron mine (Level 30) Farm (Level 30) Warehouse (Level 25) Hiding place (Level 10) Wall (Level 20)
units 15000 Axemen 150 Rams Lc
Now this will provide an excellent army, you can throw in scouts, and don’t forget to research everything to level 3. And remember is a defensive situation this army will fail, make sure the Offensive village is not attacked.
7. ----General Help----
Raiding-
Things to remember are when raiding, earlier on use small groups of spear fighters, and raid inactive or abandoned villages.
When raiding later on slightly better inactive villages, use rams first to clear walls and then farm like hell.
Raid close to home.
And be careful not to hit an active player.
Being Inactive-
Get someone to account sit from your tribe.
Diplomacy-
Always be polite to other players. Trust me it helps to be a good diplomat and you can normally get out of any situation by being polite.
Expanding-
try to take villages close to home, so they are easily defended by your other villages, don’t take villages miles and miles away.
